Language

Language is a unique trait of humanity on the earth. All people use this trait when they find it to their advantage to relay information from one person to another. Through this action of communication we are able to assemble factual information coupled with imaginary thought in order to provide the necessary coordination between one another to accomplish those goals necessary for the betterment and advancement of the human race. Various groups of people developed language through their speech patterns that suited the environment from which they came. There were Asian languages such as Chinese, or Hindi; African and Middle east languages such as Arabic, or Swahili; Western Hemispheric Languages such as Mayan or Navajo; and European Languages from the Latin base or English developed through the contact of peoples of varying origins such as Scandinavians, Brits and the Germanic peoples. In this discussion, I will dwell mostly upon English, as it is one of the most widely used by Western Civilizations today.
Truth is of paramount importance when communicating among people in order that all gain a sense of reality in order not to deceive one another. It is by presenting factual information in our communication that we gain the respect of others and aid them in evaluating the usefulness of the information provided as it might advance the knowledge base of the community and enable them to make use of the world around them most effectively. Lies and deceit work against reality and prevent the effective use of information for the good. The words themselves, that we use in our language, have power; they cause anxiety, or joy, or distrust, or comfort, or many other attitudes or feelings in the mind of others. Words can also cause things to happen, in the ultimate case, God said, “Let there be light!” and the whole universe came into being.

After the beginning, That is when the universe came into being and the world was made and the earth brought forth plants and animals, and man was all alone on the earth, God said ”It is not good for man to be alone, let us make him a helper.” In Genesis Chapter 2 it says He created them male and female –
Man is a composite being, having not only the physical mortal body in which he lives upon the earth, but a spiritual nature through which he is a rational being who will live forever. The spiritual nature of man allows him to communicate with his spiritual creator and be aware of the other spiritual beings in creation. Lucifer and his minions are some of those spiritual beings cast to the physical world when they divorced themselves from the presence of their creator. Being jealous of man due to the love that God bestows upon him, Lucifer will forever attempt to deceive man to convince him that God is the jealous one who has kept secrets from man that would ultimately make him powerful and happy. In the garden of creation ,Lucifer deceived Adam and Eve, the first of humankind. He convinced them to turn away from God and seek the knowledge of the world itself to fulfill their desires. This first turning away from their Creator, by mankind, is known traditionally as Original Sin. Ever since then, this desire to (Do It myself) has permeated the spirit of man and contributed to his pride. To take joy in one’s accomplishments helps man to see the good in his growth to advance humanities well-being. Pride, however leads to self promotion to the detriment of others who might have assisted in this accomplishment. Pride also leads to sense that one might deserve more that his just due for his success. Excess pride leads to envy by others who become jealous when they see one might not be deserving of the admiration bestowed upon him, or of the position of influence in society that might be gained.
Man / Woman

Men and women are created in the image and likeness of God. What does that mean? Humanity is not equal to God, we do not share His divine and infinite nature. He is spirit and we are physical beings. WE are however, free to act as we will and share a spiritual nature with Him. We do not share His intellect or omnipotent being. Even though we both, man and woman, share equally, those likenesses of God such as our ability to love and experience the beauty of His creation, we are equal in value , quality and merit with each other. We possess physical differences in gender and physical abilities. These differences lead to varying roles suitable for each of us. Traditionally, women, through their unique physiology, carry within them the children of humanity, but they require the seed of man to produce viable offspring. This is a natural development throughout the physical world. When we live by the natural law we cooperate with creation. God said for us to be fruitful and multiply. He also said that man should leave his father and mother to cling to his wife and the two should become one; that is a husband and wife producing a family with children. Our roles are laid out by nature.
This traditional family may not always be possible in today’s modern society that has been wracked by the evil of Original Sin, but it should always be the goal to strive for. Women, as wife and mother, are uniquely the caregivers and therefore the, homemaker and is primarily responsible for raising the children of the family, until their adolescence. Men, husband and the larger of the species, by nature is therefore the provider and protector of the family. These roles are not always exclusive to the partners, for in special circumstances of necessity, they will vary.
Truth

When we attempt to change our roles ordained by nature, we place ourselves in opposition to our creator who has designed those roles for us. This opposition has caused stress and anxiety throughout not only families, but the whole of society and culture as well. We lie to ourselves and each other, as well as to society when we ignore the truth of our own nature. We lie when we consciously deceive one another or say to another things that are not factual, with the intention of misrepresenting reality for any selfish purpose. Truth is always objective and cannot change with time or situations. What was true at the time of the fall of Rome is still true today. Truth does not evolve with time or the secular view of morality. If truth was dependent upon the desired outcome of the sequence of choices we make, a case could be made to say that our shepherd is about to lead us into greener pastures when actually we would be following a wolf in sheep’s clothing. We all know what happens when the wolf is in charge, he scatters the sheep, and when they are not strong enough to get away, he devours them.
All civilization value truth as the anchor of reality in their various cultures. The native peoples of North America regarded the European settlers of their land as speaking with forked tongue when they intended to deceive the people. Traditionally, the natives regarded snakes as devious, hence the forked tongue. It is commonly accepted that the characteristic of people allows people of many cultures to accept and learn from one-another. This is the common tradition of mankind found in all cultures around the world. That is the tradition of truthfulness, fairness and honor.
Words

Other words that do not reflect advancement but are designed to change the way we understand culture are usually deceptive in nature. One that comes to mind is MARRIAGE. In the tradition of humanity throughout the world, a man and a woman become one in body and spirit, and become fruitful to form a family. In some cultures, this could be as plural marriage, or one of monogamy. In either case it is always a union of male and female human beings.
When man uses language in an attempt to deceive or modify reality, the traditional use of that language becomes corrupt and distrusted by the people. There is a place in language, to modify definitions in order to more accurately describe technical science or activities that have been realized from new knowledge about the subject. One example among many is the coining of the work to describe the invention of a box in which we can communicate through sound as well as pictures with one another. We would call the modulation of sound to convey thought as telling, and the painting of a picture electronically in order to convey the view of another person a way to provide visual data, hence TELEVISION. This new word of the 1940’s, unknown in years prior, is now commonplace in our language and a good example of the growth of language in order to reflect advancement in our culture.
At the time of creation it was so. See Genesis Ch_1 vs:7-8 and Ch 2 vs:21-24. These days there is a movement to make it acceptable to modify this union called marriage to include same sex couples. This is a disruption of the natural order as prescribed by our creator. The statement, “Be fruitful and multiply!”, is not attainable for same sex couples, for God made us male and female, to complement each other in producing offspring. Marriage does not describe the friendship between two people of the same sex no matter how much they want it to be a marriage. In this case it is just what it seems to be, a living arrangement between people, not a marriage. Those who engage in such an arrangement deceive themselves when they proclaim that they are married, as that is a physical impossibility. Children raised in such a household are also deceived and are prevented from having the benefit of either a father or mother in their individual situation.
Another case of misrepresenting reality in language is the us of the term reproductive health, within the field of women’s health care. The same group of people that claim to fight for women’s rights, actual fight for only the nebulous claim that women have the right to kill their unborn child if it an inconvenience to them. First, it is illogical to claim that this action has anything to do with health. Healthcare is designed to save life; this act of abortion always results in the death of an innocent person. It is the opposite of healthcare. If we are interested in the saving of a life, as health care strives to provide, the emphasis would be towards prenatal care and the treatment of birth defects in order to provide children with the optimum chance for a fulfilled and successful life.
In my next blog, I will take a look at the homosexual and the transgender world, and how this deviation from the natural order, affects our culture today.
